Scrape what’s left, go buy a tube of silicone scellant at hardware store, reapply.

See youtube to know how to reapply.

The picture is so blurry I can’t really make it out.. But when you say it’s breaking do you mean the silicone caulk over the seam(between the table/whatever and the wall tile) is what’s breaking off?

If it’s the silicone and nothing on the structures themselves, it can be cut off and removed using a utility knife. Then just put on a new caulk layer & smooth it over with a wetted finger.

The sealing caulk should be renewed around every ~5 years in normal use in a bathroom if I recall correctly. Someone feel free to correct me on that timeframe though if my memory’s fudged about it.

Remove old silicon and apply new? You can get smaller tubes of white silicon for this purpise and don’t need to get big tubes.

Not an expert, but my understanding is that you are not supposed to add layers of silicon but instead remove old one first. I believe it might be because the silicon looses some of it’s features and therefore should be replaced.

Do you own the apartment/house? If not and you are renting, you can call the maintenance to fix it

    5. This is trivial to fix yourself – you just need a tube of sanitary/bathroom silicone, caulking gun and a knife. You cut out the old stuff, clean and dry the area, then apply a fresh bead of silicone and smooth it out. Would cost you a grand total of 10-15 euros or so.

However, with the Finnish regulations I have no clue if you are allowed to do it as a tenant. I think it is ok to do if you own the place (considered surface level work/maintenance) but don’t quote me on that.

    6. Contact fimx again, do NOT fix it yourself. It’s not a mold hazard though
