Never thought about it but I realized Malaysia and Indonesia could put Singapore under siege if they really wanted to
Israel has access via the Eastern Mediterranean
Why Bosnia was given with so tiny strip of coastline? I know the history of Yugoslavia and its collapse but still didn’t find the explanation.
Is the purple colour in 2nd pic representing international waters?
Sorry, but this map is not good. The color scheme has no consistency, you have to know the flag of each country to identify it, and no legend to indicate which lines might be the international water boundary.
Gaza conspicuously missing
Reminder that Croatia intentionally blocked Slovenia to international waters.
Turkey, to a certain extent for the Bosporous / Black Sea side. I find the Agean Islands dispute pretty interesting.

Can we just save blue for the fucking water?
Israel doesn’t count
This is only true for Bosnia in these cases, as ships can legally sail right on the border of two different countries territorial waters without trespassing iirc
Interesting
There’s a principle in international maritime law called „innocent passage“ because of areas like this. „Innocent passage is a concept in the law of the sea that allows for a vessel to pass through the territorial sea (and certain grandfathered internal waters) of another state“ as long as all the ship is doing is moving through them, not threatening, fishing, loading/unloading cargo, etc.
My impression is that it’s mostly honored except during conflict.

Also Gaza
Very interesting post!
The title made me think they didn’t have proper ports to access international waters. It would probably have been better to describe it as „no **direct** access/connection to international waters“ or something of that sort.
How about all Medditerranean, Black-Sea, Red-Sea, Baltic, Gulf nations?
All entrances to those seas are blocked by territorial waters.
