      I wonder if there is some environmental reason why the Norwegians were unable to assimilate Grand Forks or if the bad Germans of the Midwest were specifically quarantined into their own little county separated from the rest by the Great Plains Norwegian Barrier

      There’s a large kraut heritage in the US that was masked post ww1 and ww2. Look up liberty cabbage, remember freedom fries, it was that but for sauerkraut
