    1. Imagine having a GDP lower than a literal city lmao

Edit: Singapore’s GDP is ~600 billion USD apparently. Absolutely insane for being a city-state. Only 25 countries have a GDP higher than that of Singapore.

Also, TIL, North Korea’s GDP is >600 USD.

How do you guys make these maps? I wanna have a crack at something like this.

    3. Africa really is a lost cause.

Nigeria has 200M+ people and has a lower GDP than a city state.

    4. went there twice. It’s a nice place to go around for a few weeks. The public transportation is nicely integrated too. But I can’t stand the weather lmao. It’s too humid. And very densely populated tho. I guess it’s not a nice place to stay/live for a long time

Singapore’s economy is a powerhouse; is this map using nominal GDP or per capita?

Singapore having larger absolute GDP size than Malaysia speaks how the latter’s New Economic Policy (NEP) favoring Malays over other ethnic groups handicap Malaysian economy for decades.
