  1. Submission Statement: The Trump administration seems to be afflicted with „Victory Disease“ where leaders assume that tactical victories will inevitably lead to the achievement of strategic goals, but history shows that this is far from the truth.

I think the comparison to Napoleon and to World War II Germany and Japan is inherently flawed, mainly because the goals of the current operation in Iran do not include conquering or holding territory, but rather weakening the Iranian regime’s ability to project power both inward and outward, with the aim of ultimately causing its collapse, or at least starting a chain of events that will eventually lead to that outcome, even if not immediately
