Soll ich mir den schattierten Bereich oder die Linie der Kampfmarkierungen ansehen?

  1. The frontline is porous. Shading indicating control of territory is determined when varified evidence from multiple sources exists.

So one, or the other, or both, or neither. It’s the “fog” in fog-of-war.

  2. Well I assume fighting markers are what leads to changes in the shaded region once the area is verified as held by one or another side.

So look at the one you’re interested in?

There is a large Grey zone between lines that is rarely consistent. Imagine a single defensive point as having three circles. One is the actual ground soldiers stand on, one larger circle is the ground directly controlled (observation, machine gun fire, etc) the third is a much bigger circle, often overlapping with other friendly or hostile positions that is the zone of patrol or interception.
These zones are porus, overlapping, and constantly changing and there are hundreds in each line between strongholds.
