Information retrieved from the Government of Canada at this website: [https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories](https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories)

Also, the advisories also could have that the advisory changes within a certain amount of kilometers of the border with another nation, for the purpose of this map I just chose the advisory color that pertained to the majority of the municipality/province

im actually impressed by the level of granularity this map (and Canada’s travel advisories) is in.

that said they’re pretty lenient with the us as it’s almost certainly not entirely green. ive felt safer in india than I did in parts of the us.

Not sure why half of europe is yellow and the US is green. Only one of those places i risk being scooped up and indefinitely detained and put in a detention center that closes mirrors a concentration camp for simply being from another place.

Before realizing this was the Canadian map I was wondering who disliked Canada enough to put us in black as if we are blacklisted 😂

I won’t touch on the states but Denmark on the same level as Brazil is lmao.

It’s not safe for your personal data if you visit the US given they demand or want to demand for your whole personal history on internet.

I don’t get the logic in Europe. Like why would we assess Norway as green but Sweden as yellow. I’ve been to both and I don’t get it.

The USA should be yellow. I felt more at risk then I did in Uzbekistan

  10. Everyone talking about the USA but I want to know tf is happening in Panama right now?

  11. I live in the orange part of The Philippines. I wish countries would update their lists. There was one incident of kidnapping of 3 foreigners 10 years ago in the orange part of the Philippines, and that’s pretty much it before or since. Heck, one of the most popular YouTube Channels coming out of The Philippines is Becoming Filipino, which is a Canadian who spends all his time wandering around the orange/red part of The Philippines to show how lovely it is. You’re far more likely to be the victim of a crime in Manila than you are in The Southern Philippines.

EDIT: Just to point out, the red part is not as safe, but it is like „struck by lightning“ or „better chance of winning the lottery“ kind of risk. Hell, being a tourist in any American city is probably riskier than going to the red part of The Philippines. And yes, it’s still safer than Manila.

  12. I giggled at first when I saw that Antarctica is yellow, what with all those adorable penguins, but then I thought about the weather as a variable.

  13. These maps always seem more concerned about rare acts of terrorism than acts of crime which are much more common.

Wondering why the UK would be in yellow on this particular map. And even though it isn’t, I would be surprised if the U.S. had been in yellow.
