The truth is there is no universally accepted definition of a continent.

Montreal is an island, and there are multiple more islands in the St-Lawrence river that are not depicted on this map.
When I was a kid I used to see the mapa mundi and I was so confused because it states that the largest island was Greenland, but Australia seems bigger than Greenland. Later I understand that Australia is a continent, and not an island.
