    This doesn’t seem correct to me.

    2022 Irish Census:
    * 1.55% stated they spoke Irish daily (outside of the education system)
    * 13.51% spoke Irish daily
    * 30.24% spoke Irish to some extend
    * 10.21% never speaks Irish despite having some level of Irish
    * 40.45% had some level of Irish

    There were 71,968 daily speakers of Irish outside the education system. This is mostly confined to the Gaeltacht. Most Gaeltacht regions are in the West of Ireland.

    There were also 625,933 daily speakers of Irish. This is much higher because there are Irish-language schools (Gaelscoil), where children would use Irish daily.

    There were also 1.4 million people who stated they spoke Irish to some extend. Additionally, 1.9 million people had some ability to speak Irish.

    On the other hand, Polish is only spoken by 123,968 people.

  2. Broke: United Ireland

    Woke: (Southern) Ireland vs. Northern Ireland

    Bespoke: West Ireland vs. East Ireland

  3. Ireland really said west coast speaks the ancient language of the land and the east coast speaks construction site Polish. honestly kinda poetic in a weird way.

    Just to Kev you know if this is posted as bait, we love the Poles. Great bunch of lads.

    According to Google, Poles in Ireland make up only 2.5% of the population. It’s highly doubtful this map has anything to do with reality.

    So English isn’t considered second language in any parts of the west of Ireland?
