Stop giving Americans unfettered access to our critical infrastructure.

We cannot fucking trust any American ever again.

Why does the government give government contracts to companies owned by people who openly call for the overthrow of the current UK government?

  3. BugAdministrative683 on

Can we not give a Nazi with explicit public support for far-right parties access to our energy infrastructure? What an awful decision by Ofgem.

  4. TheBrassDancer on

Why we are allowing key infrastructure to be run by any American company is beyond me. Especially one run by someone with Nazi sympathies and actively wants to destabilise the UK government.

  5. Al_Snows_Head on

Great, just what the country needs, this parasite getting involved in our infrastructure.

  6. So now he has a foothold in the UK and carte blanche to meddle in UK politics. Which forking genius thought this was a good idea?

  7. Catherine_S1234 on

Maybe we should give ISIS control of our water supply next. Since we love giving enemies of the UK control over key infrastructure

  8. „However, Tesla’s electricity licence means it cannot offer a dual fuel contract to households. It could supply a customer’s electricity if they had a separate tariff agreement for their gas supply.“

    Sticking with Octopus then.

  9. It’s brave of Tesla to be investing in a country that is allegedly on the verge of a civil war. How very forward thinking of them.

Why the fuck would we even consider giving this fascist scumbag a foothold in our countries critical infrastructure? That’s without taking into account that his track record on producing anything useful is, at best, spotty.

His rockets explode. His electric vehicles kill people in various ways. His self driving is all pretty much vaporware. He promises much, and delivers virtually none of it.

Let him fuck off to Mars and leave the rest of us to run things without him.

  11. It’s the same as what Octopus Energy does in the UK. It’s just a supplier of electricity; it does not have control of the grid or infrastructure.

Finally some good news, hopefully he can make it decently priced again.

  13. FFS this is beyond stupid and has to involve some form of corruption, legal or not

Has anyone checked f our government is ok? Are they having trouble at home? Do they have drink or drug problems? Maybe we need to do a wellness check?

  15. Why are we letting that Nazi anywhere near our power grid? After all the things hes said about our country he gets given a contract to supply electricity?

  16. whatmichaelsays on

A lot of people over-reacting here without understanding what an electricity supplier actually is.

This isn’t giving Musk the keys to critical UK infrastructure. It’s giving him a piece of paper to set up what is barely more than a glorified call centre.

  17. NO NO NO NO NO NO. He’s a Russian & Trump tool who will turn it off when told to, just as he did Starlink in Ukraine. God only knows what private data & grid information he will pass to those parties.

It’s arguably a national energy security disaster to allow him on the market.

  18. „Violence is coming to you. You either fight back, or you die“

Do we really want this knobhead with his knobhead fingers in our energy/ infrastructure pies?

Wasn’t selling our critical infrastructure to dodgy foreign investors universally agreed to be a bad thing?

Let’s see.. The water, gas, electric, post office and royal mail – all give worse service for more money and have less investment due to profit scraping and asset stripping

Probably a good idea to let this nazi sink in too then..

Wasn’t he calling for civil war a few months ago?

I guess it’s better than if we totally banned him – his electric car chargers make up the backbone of the non charge at home market imho, sadly

I just worry that he wants to do nuclear power.. As that’s surely a bad mix, right? Let him try that in crazy town usa first

  20. We don’t want him, let him go back to his daddies emerald mine in south Africa

Nice work Labour, give the world’s cuntiest man even more influence in the UK.

  22. > However, Tesla’s electricity licence means it cannot offer a dual fuel contract to households. It could supply a customer’s electricity if they had a separate tariff agreement for their gas supply.

That has to be a small market in the UK

  23. For the love of all that is good and pure, please can we have *national* infrastructure rather than endless outsourcing to other countries, particularly the USA and China? We just don’t seem to ever learn and we end up being held to ransom. We shouldn’t have privatised energy in the first place, but at least companies like Octopus are homegrown businesses that pay tax here and, so far as I can tell, operate in a pretty ethical way.

We should want money that we spend in the UK to stay in the UK, not disappearing off abroad.

  24. ObedientPickle on

Jfc, he should be labelled an enemy of the state, not given the keys to the kingdom.

  25. ihatebamboo on

The man who begged to go to kid shagger island.

Let’s let him have access to our infrastructure.
