Ich wusste nicht, dass du diese hier hast. Und woher kommen sie? Vor ein paar Tagen waren es 2 Grad Celsius und wir fanden sie gefroren mitten auf der Straße. Das haben wir heute Abend gesehen und es hat 10 Grad und regnet. Übrigens ist dies in einem Dorf in der Nähe eines Flusses. Sie kommen jedoch vom nahegelegenen Hügel herunter.

Helping them cross streets safely is something we used to do in school. It’s not only them getting squished by wheels but also the airstream that causes deadly injuries.
So you block off a well-frequented road (with foil taped to wooden posts) and bury buckets into the ground. They fall in the buckets when it’s dark and you carry them across the street.
It’s the reason why many rural roads are closed from 1800 until 2200. Frog migration (etc.) time.
