Some are just forward or tenant units in the host country’s base. A forward logistics hub is a storage depot utilized if a greater American presence is needed in the future. Others are sprawling mini metropolises of Americans and their families.

  2. More if you consider NATO bases. US doesnt control them in the traditional sense, but they do have tremendous influence over them.

I can’t speak for other countries but many of the basses listed in Turkey are NATO bases.

  4. what’s even more wild is that i don’t think there are any foreign military bases set up in the US.

correct me if i’m wrong y’all

Imagine a world where the US closes all their foreign bases, halves their soon to be $1.5T per year military budget and focuses on making their homeland a fortress. They still have their ICBMs and their nuclear subs can still be anywhere in the world, maintaining their nuclear deterrent.

They give their people the universal right to healthcare they deserve and start paying down their debts instead of increasing it.

    What’s the downside here?

No threat to Russia at all, how can anyone come to that conclusion…

  7. There are always American troops stationed in Lithuania on rotational basis.
