What an absolute scumbag, and it’s ridiculous that his sentence is suspended. This is why violence happens to innocent people so often, sentencing is far too light. Why do we allow this shit?
In his company van no less, this idiot doesn’t have two brain cells to rub together.
Thing is in modern cars (my 2013 had the feature) speed limiters are a default option, slapping it to 20 is trivial
The roofer has proven he cannot be in control of himself while driving, as such he’s unsafe and should have his license removed
Why is the headline talking as if it’s in dispute when there’s a conviction?
Ive never understood why so many drivers lose their shit over driving in a 20 zone
The real problem is this poor man suffers from a broken cheekbone and eye socket and his attacker gets a year suspended!! That’s ridiculous. It’s too short and suspended to boot. No wonder pricks think they can go around causing violence and intimidation. No one is really stopping them. If you’re violent, you can’t be trusted in normal society. Should be sraight to prison , imo
I’ve done 20 on my motorbike and felt like I’m going to fall off im going that slow
And had people over take and give me a dirty look
but you can’t hate on people following the rules. 20 is a joke non the less but can’t hate if the guys doing what the speed limit says. Some people also can’t control themselves and it shows
If the jails are full and time isn’t a deterrent, there should be financial penalties at least for these sort of despicable actions.
£5000k minimum fine for assault AND a suspended sentence. Might make him think twice.
The judge decided to suspend the sentence because he is an employer, apparently. Yet, per his latest accounts on Companies House he has no employees. Interesting.
Think the most mental thing is you watch the camera footage of the incident, and you can clearly see the attacker has a passenger waiting in his van watching on, doing absolutely nothing to intervene.
Absolute state of both of them.
That judge wants looking at, if giving people in employment is a reason to not send someone to prison then I guess he’d do the same to a rapist who employs people to go into peoples houses to work.
No prison, no driving ban.
Basically no consequences at all for the criminal. Victim has broken bones.
Judge needs sacking and I’m not one to say that usualy.
The other side to the story.
The ‚Victim‘ pulled out infront of a loaded truck doing 2mph in the lanes.
The ‚Victim‘ then proceeded to drive 5mph then breaking then driving from the bottom of bettws lanes to the country park turning.
So chris went down jumbo hill to avoid him.
The ‚Victim‘ seen the scaffolding van coming so put it foot down to get infront of chris again then slammed on his breaks infront of the loaded truck AGAIN.
The ‚Victim‘ was lucky not to have caused a much worse accident by hi actions several times not just the once.
By this time the traffic had come to a stop and the ‚Victim‘ opened his own car door.
Chris got out to see what his problem was then chris got jammed in the ‚Victims‘ door. Natural reaction was to swing a punch.
He is now known as a Dicktim. Acts a dick then plays the Victim.
No chris shouldn’t have punched him. Yes he is sorry.
But the ‚Dickhim‘ was not faultless.
He lied through court.
Said he’s afraid to drive, got to use a walking stick, dental problems.
We pass him every day driving, no walking stick in court, got up the 30 steps ok too , and couldn’t claim for tooth decay.
There you have it. The rest of the story.
No need to contact me with your threats either.
This is his partner’s rant on Facebook about it.
Personally, I hate driving in 20 zones, often I think it’s way too slow for the road, but worst of all it’s such an awkward speed to drive at in any manual car.
But who the fuck reacts to it like this?
I thought people had finally calmed down over the 20 limit.
The amount of vitriol going around when the change came into force was ludicrous. Vandalised signs, people honking and flashing up your bumper, protests, threats sent to councils, conspiracies about how it somehow leads to curfews and border posts between towns??
The studies that came out showing improved safety seemed to have shut people up, and the rest must have just ran out of steam, then there’s this guy out punching pensioners in the street for obeying the law.
I hope he brings a civil suit against the scumbag too
> Shaw received a one-year jail term suspended for two years, was ordered to pay £1,500 in compensation and carry out 50 hours of unpaid work.
They need a specific driving offence for extreme road rage, something like 6 points for this kind of behaviour.
Roofer? Inexplicable angry outburst? Guarantee he was coked up at the time.
