This is honestly really inaccurate. California has the largest GDO within the American domestic market. California has a lot of things it relies on the federal government for that it doesn’t pay. California doesn’t pay for its own defense, major infrastructure, healthcare, social security, etc. State GDPs can’t really be compared to GDPs of countries
And California only represents 14% of total US GDP.
Likely the only reason we do t secede is the us military would not allow it

This is exactly why GDP is not an accurate measure of a country’s economic level. Everything is based on spending, not actual production. Furthermore, even if we do measure production we are reliant on the proposed „market value“ of the goods being produced. Not their actual value.
Easy to have a high GDP when the federal government provides your military and other funding.
