      It’s been almost a week since the war started. Now they are telling them to leave? The day after telling them the US embassies will not be able to assist. I guess I’ll put $500 down on incoming kidnappings.

      Wow thanks for letting me know. I’m in iraq right now, and have friends across all governorates. We all have power as always. I must be living in a dream and the news is more right than my eyes. Stop believing this disinformation. We still have better power hours than Ukraine. We’re fine.

      The American military clearly did not expect the grid to collapse at this stage, or they would have ordered civilians out before it became impossible to do so.

      How the fuck an American civilian is going to get out of a country in the middle of a war in the middle of a nationwide blackout is beyond me.

      That said, it’s beyond me why any American civilians would have been in the country a month ago, so perhaps I’m not imaginative enough.

      Wait so another republican president is starting another war with Iraq? Wtf is with these people and Iraq.. literally 3 republican presidents in a row have cause 3 wars in the Middle East and involved Iraq. Bush 1 bush 2 and now Trump. Only breaks in between were with democrats..

      I sure hope that in the future Congress grills Marco Rubio on this regional conflict like they did Hillary Clinton with Benghazi. They talked about that for years and this disaster looks like it dwarfs it.

      It’s always ideal to issue important emergency information *after* the power goes out, when rapid transfer of communication and quick ability to act on that information are at their worst.

      Probably a blackout caused by the USA/CIA so all of the radar and other commo equipment is out, I’m sure they are flying overhead right now. lights are out….is there a new moon? They’re using darkness to conceal movement. And probably using the blackout to keep unauthorized chatter about this to a minimum. Probably helicopters flying low and slow full of Kurds and US operators. I’m sure the Israelis are also involved or maybe this one is completely their own idea and doing.

      So pro-Iranian groups blew up the electrical grid in Iraq?

      I don’t get how these groups think this helps Iran.
