      Ipsos topline polling numbers are echoing the overall trend of recent polls. I find the data on desire to have an election in 2026 more interesting, mainly because the strongest support for it leans westward and conservative…

      „Canadians remain split as to whether the country should have another federal election in 2026 (37%, -3 pts vs. December 2025) or not (44%, +6 pts), though the proportion of Canadians who don’t want a 2026 election has grown since December. One in five (19%) don’t know one way or another.

      Those in Saskatchewan and Manitoba (51%), those aged 18-34 (47%), and Conservative voters (67%), and men (42%) are the most likely to say Canada should have an election in 2026. Notably, desire for an election among Albertans has fallen compared to in December (40% vs. 52% in December 2025). Less than one-fifth (18%) of Liberals want another election. „

      I used to think Carney would be crazy to call an election but I think given the last couple weeks his popularity has likely peaked. So maybe he will haha before it gets worse. Hopefully he gets it together and starts taking more of an interest in domestic issues for our sake and his otherwise his days in office could be numbered.

      Carney is effectively in a majority. He has no need, desire, or motive to force an election. Any speculation otherwise is projection from the CPC.
