    >the right-wing SVP, rigorously opposes the agreements

Of course it does. Let’s aim for isolationism so that we become a second Belarus. That’s going to promote the otherwise endlessly trotted out prosperity.

  2. If Switzerland incorporates more with eu, it is the start of the decline of this country.

I guess it is very clear to everyone by now how it is going for small countries who don’t manage to reach deals with others in the current world…

Direct democracy works less through the specific issues or if we vote yes or no, and more through the mere existence of the possibility. The knowledge that any decision can theoretically be stripped from the rich and powerful and subjected to the uncertainty of a public vote forces every decision-maker to consider the whole of society far more carefully—making the political and economical system function better for everyone. That’s why I will vote against any contract, rapprochement, or membership with the EU. It’s not that they are bad or evil, but it would give parliament an escape hatch from that pressure, leading to worse overall system performance that would outweigh any economic gains from the contract.

Switzerland already has it really good, the access to EU market is worth well above CHF 350M

Noooooo, im afraid that incorporating EU laws the swiss salaries will be lower and comparable with germany(but with private health care)

  7. The Federal Council has worked hard, this is a good agreement. We are moving towards more rocky trade relations with the US, having a better access to the EU market for our exports is necessary if we want our economy to stay strong. I hope that people we see this and vote in favour of the agreement. Otherwise, I don’t see who will be left to buy our expensive exports.

Let’s keep our energy for the big question with the EU which will be migration

  9. Sorry, but I disdain for the way von der Leyen replied to the questions from the reporter regarding what would happen with the 10 million people vote were to pass.

I may not vote for it but it is my right as a Swiss to vote the way I want and not what she or anyone else decided in the EU. She obviously holds zero respect for our direct democracy and leaves a very sour taste for upcoming votes.

  10. I don’t see a problem working with the EU. But I don’t want a situation where we become a vassal to the EU. Switzerland’s only purpose is to serve us and not the incompetent rest of Europe
