  1. > “Unusual, yeah, unusual, irrational, whatever words you want to use in that,” Sarandos said. “It’ll be fascinating to see the next steps. I have been on the record a lot in the last two weeks talking about what I think the future looks like. I’m confident in our future that we’re not impacted by all that. In fact, maybe it’s to our advantage. But I hope I’m wrong for the sake of the industry.”

    > “It’s a lot cheaper to make noise than it is to actually raise your bid,” Sarandos said. “So they tried that path first. Once it was clear that we weren’t in the CNN business, it was a lot less interesting. He didn’t care that much more about our deal.”

    > “We had a very tight range that we’d be willing to pay and made that offer back when we closed this deal,” he said. “We hadn’t moved much from that, except for moving to cash, which served to move the deal faster. I’m happy where we got in and happy where we got out. We knew right away, when we got the notice on Thursday that they had a superior offer and the details of that deal. We knew exactly what we were going to do.”

    I officially take back what I said about this man. This is a true CEO of a media company.

    Paramount/HBO etc -> Netflix

    Or just flat out cancel

    Its not perfect by a long long mile but pressure how you can. Vote in the elections and vote with your $

    He knows he’ll acquire both when Paramount sinks itself in two years

    I can’t wait until Paramount is bankrupted and Netflix buys them at a bargain basement price. I’m not a fan of consolidation, but at this point, I’ll take it.

    I do hope that Ellison loses all his money because he only seem capable of making shitty deals.

  8. When you are the son in law of the president.. you get what you what..and since your daddy opened up the middle east..lmao..most people are not actually reading about kushner and his daddy..everything has been planned..paramount..the middle east attacks ..only thing that is in common.. the kushners..son inlaw..and his daddy…

    Let’s be real, Netflix was crushing everyone before this and will after this.

  10. Honestly, I could see the Skydance deal being tossed on some anti-trust basis if it really was just the Ellisons throwing around money and political weight. At least, that’s what would happen in a functioning administration.

  11. I’m cancelling HBO. Aside from the Trump ties and lack of free market of this deal, I believe Paramount will cut costs and HBO’s product will suffer.

  12. It’s wild that WB accepted Netflix offer and then kept jumping back and forth waiting for Paramount to offer more and more.

  13. Dipshit Ellison will run Warner into the ground and Netflix will pick up all the valuable pieces they want at cents on the dollar. They are the winners here. Disciplined as always, not desperate and irrational.

    When Paramount starts selling WB for parts I hope Netflix gets the Warner archives.

    Reading the comments here is so funny. If Netflix bought WBD, people would be all over his case, how he is destroying the market. He got screwed by both WBD and Paramount, so suddenly everyone is trying to cancel HBO. So people want to cancel HBO to help Netflix get a deal they will then instantly hate as soon Netflix has it in the bag.

    Not too bright.

    I wonder if Warner shareholders are going to file a lawsuit to try to stop the deal. They knew the Netflix offer was better – all cash.
