I appreciate the beaverton in these trying times.
Another bullseye for The Beaverton.

>At press time, Carney was fully convinced that this was going to be the time that a US attack on a Middle Eastern country was finally going to lead to peace and security for its people.
Where’s Charlie Brown and his football when you need ‚em?
I get the practical realities, and putting down the sign doesn’t necessarily mean taking actions based on morals first and foremost – it’s about how small and middle powers can together play against the great powers where they can and need to for their own best interests.Â
Nevertheless disappointing is disappointing.
Love the beaverton.
A lot of people misunderstood the Davos speech. It wasn’t just about middle powers banding together so that they wouldn’t get trampled over by the great ones. It was also about accepting the world as is and realizing that the rules based international order is dead. In other words, might makes right. Now, I think part of the confusion comes from the fact that these are pretty contradictory. This current episode clearly shows why: while backing US strikes against Iran is accepting the world as is, it’s not an example of middle powers charting their own path.
That’s also why I think it was a pretty bad speech. It said pretty much whatever you wanted it to say. You could pull up a transcript of it and pull out any part of it to say whatever you want.
The Davos speech is about realpolitik not idealpolitik, which he has demonstrated today. Good for Carney. He is getting my vote next time.
Even worse because now after shattering the facade he’s asking us all to participate in it again, no less towards supporting our neighbour who has also threatened our *own* sovereignty.
Meet the new world order, it’s the same as the old world order but we got these nice hats!
Did he think everyone would forget his speech that he made on the world stage?!
WTF.
Even the UK is like: the strikes are not legal in a way the UK would recognise.
While Carney: bla bla [f’in yahu nonsense talking points].
