      ‚Canada supports the United States acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to prevent its regime from further threatening international peace and security‘

      Once again, Carney is demonstrating his neoconservative ideology regarding regime change and military foreign policy. He would have absolutely followed Bush & Cheney into Iraq in 2003. Canada is fundamentally lacking moral courage in standing up to unjustified military operations from the US and Israel.

      Fantastic statement.

      The Iranian regime does not deserve a lick of our sympathy.

      Hopefully their 40 years of repression, murder, and terror is coming to an end. I can’t wait to welcome our Iranian brothers and sisters back into the global order.

      The Iranian nation is thousands of years old. The Iranian regime is 40 years old. The people will endure.

      The problem is the U.S. goal is regime change. That means a prolonged war with no certainty in sight. I would’ve preferred a more narrow goal of ending their nuclear program. This will get ugly.

      Disappointing. Not sure what else he could say though or have any sway over here? It’s Israel carrying out strikes with the US assisting.

      I’m of mixed thoughts on this. As long as Canada isn’t involved then we will see. If the US was aiding revolutionaries to end a dictators regime after they executed 30,000 people. That would be something to support.

      But it’s Trump and the MAGA admin. They don’t do things on the basis of being just and moral. It’s probably political and has an angle that enriches Trump or his cronies.

      So wait and see. The knee jerk reaction should not automatically be supporting Iran and it’s insane regime just because we don’t like Trump.

      Preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is not what’s happening and he shouldn’t be talking as if we all don’t know that.

      Hours before American and Israeli strikes, Iran agreed to stop stockpiling enriched uranium, according to Omani mediators. The US is using bad-faith negotiations as cover for their aggression, and Carney is vocally supporting this? We need to be out on the streets protesting, because this is not the ‚elbows up‘ Carney Canadians elected. If we don’t want to be a vassal state we need to be willing to speak out against preemptive American aggression, or at least not cheer it on.
