Only reddit make you more smarterer
Leave me alone I’m batin’!
No shit, Sherlock..
„While this doesn’t literally mean that TikTok is actually destroying your brain, it does show a proven correlation between lower impulse control and lack of focus in those who regularly consume short-form videos.“
Maybe dumb people just like TikTok more than everyone else.
I know for sure. For me, when o use TikTok more. My attention span is devastated. It’s hard for me to watch my favorite YouTube creators after words. But when I delete TikTok. It does get better
I uninstalled any short video apps from my phone because I can just waste so much time on them and they are pointless. I wonder if being on Reddit is any better? I feel like it’s not as bad but what does everyone else think?
And of course this thread has a TikTok ad on reddit mobile. The sheer irony.
yeah NO SHIT
It must be something around short attention spans. I read the article. It’s about short attention spans. Attention! No further comments from me, to fit short attention spans. You’re welcome.
No I’m doesn’t!
Wish I could disable shorts
I mean, if it’s indeed as bad as it seems, there’s absolutely no reason to _only_ regulate for children.
my neighbor started using app timers for shorts and it actually helped his focus at work after a week. most studies i’ve seen show correlation, not instant brain damage, but heavy short-form scrolling does seem tied to worse sustained attention and impulse control. the practical fix is boring: turn off autoplay, set a daily cap, and replace dead-scroll time with long reads or podcasts. ymmv but even 20-30 minute limits can make a noticeable difference.
Good, I would like to be dumb, because then I wont know how dumb everyone else is being all the time
