    Kenet Lindtman ottaisi hallitukseen?

Perussuomalaiset Sdp on jo sulkenut ulos hallituskumppaneistaan.

Parlamentaarinen työryhmä pääsi lokakuussa sopuun velkajarrusta, jonka tavoitteena on hillitä Suomen velkaantumista.

SDP has been full of right wing moles like Vartiainen, Jungner and Lindtman.

Because they still will need to balance the budget (or let EU do it) which is easier to achieve when you don’t have left or green in the coalition. That doesn’t leave them a lot of choices, the third choice after NCP and Centre is rather unpleasant…

If you return to the real world for a while any majority government will have at least two of SDP, Kokoomus, Keskusta, or Perussuomalaiset. Take your pick.

  5. SDP is extremely unlikely to form a coalition with The Finns party. That means they can’t really avoid picking either NCP or Centre to achieve a governing majority, as SDP + Greens +The Left is unlikely to receive more than 50 % of votes.

  6. They seem to be agreeing with Kokoomus on a lot of things already. Looks like the beatings will continue until morale improves.

  7. SDP going more and more right to lure voters, just like Labour in the UK. You can see from labour’s current popularity as to how that is working (not at all).

The Overton window has been moving so much to the right that SDP is soon a right wing party. It’s already more right wing than the greens, just slightly left on the scale of right to left.

It’s sad. Horrible politicians for the shitty voters I guess.

What would be your ideal coalition? I mean we gotta think realistic here and no party has the majority. So how should it work from your pov?

  9. Yup. Voted for SDP last election because Marin had made it clear no government would be made with Kokoomus. Tactical voting would be absolutely wasted idea this time around because Lindtman’s position. He’s trying to gather votes from right wing, while assuredly losing votes from because of these comments.

Probably quite successful at gathering the right-wing votes too, considering strong vote share. Partially also because current government is simply abhorrent and is bleeding support.

But what is going to happen after 4 years is SDP is doing right-wing politics with Kok or Keskusta? Lose all the right wing voters because they’re almost as bad as other two. Then we get another round of Kokoomus with their steadfast voters they never seem to lose, and Keskusta or PS helping and round 3 of this population hating.

I see no reason to vote anything but Left alliance. Not only are they the only party that refuses to cut welfare state to the ground but they also have good party goals lined up. If they ever get the chance to implement them, but that’s up to the voters.

  10. I think a lot of people are wishing/hoping that there is some reasonable balance to be found in the old school large parties SDP/Kok/Kesk forming a government together.

Personally, I think I’ve voted for every other non-marginal party (and some marginal ones) apart from SDP that for a long time smelled like the party of pensioners and people who hadn’t noticed it wasn’t the 1900’s anymore and it’s annoying that they appear to be the only real alternative to Kok who I strongly feel aren’t doing the right things.

Kokoomus plays the role of the party that large corporations, rich people and investors can lobby to get policies they want in Finland. There are almost no really large corporations based in Finland and not much capital either and their mood is definitely not seeking growth in Finland since you might as well invest in a country were work is cheaper, so Kokoomus will not drive policies enabling growth and expansion in Finland, so we’ll just get more of „workforce in Finland providing services to Finnish customers should be cheaper and there should be less money spent on services in Finland so rich people have more money to invest in other countries“.

This shouldn’t be hard to fight against, but somehow SDP manages to seem unappealing to me. I don’t see anything in that article that reads like „now this sounds like the right move“, so I’m just amazed that somehow people appear to default to SDP as a party that might think about the average person making them the only viable alternative to Kok as the prime minister party.

  11. I think there has always been a ‚oikeistodemari‘ – that is: right-wing social democrat – part of the Social Democratic Party.

For some of us that’s actually what we want.

He needs a majority which probably isn’t possible with just left alliance and greens, left alliance and part of greens are just too far left in national defense and balancing the budget and lastly the worst part about the current government is the Finns party which obviously will never be in a coalition with SDP.

  13. It’s quite a bummer. There is pretty much nothing in spd right now that inspires any change or makes even a little bit of effort to bring better values in our politics. Fucking all lidntman has going on is staying quiet and being maaaaybe just a little bit fairer than kokoomus in how they decide to cut the budget… Until he folds like a lawn chair when challenged even slightly.

It is very rare for Finland to have minority goverment and even If SDP achieves current poll numbers or even little higher in next elections, they can not form majority without either Kokoomus or Keskusta. Other leftist parties (vihreät and Vasemmistoliitto) Don’t have enough support to form left wing goverment with SDP, even with RKP support.
So yeah, unless something really big happens, next goverment Will Be SDP (Prime ministeri), Kokoomus (finance ministeri), RKP and greens. Or SDP, keskusta, Vasemmistoliitto, vihreät and RKP.

However, doesn’t really matter, things will go pretty much same way, austerity will continue and maybe few nominal tax hikes.

  15. Yeah, SDP is pretty much out of the question. With Lindtman they have moved to economic right to appease NCP, so their government would be the same of what is now minus random racist sensations.

Greens will never pass SDP „from the left“, so as of now the Left seems to be the least worst option IMO.
