Well there go my chances of applying next year. I just got my first spouse visa in January and it was 3 years. So, I thought I could just apply for PR by next year since we would be married 3 years and I had a 3 year spouse visa.

>But the latest revision allows the three-year period of stay only for those already holding status through March 31, 2027. A disposition issued within that period will be treated as satisfying the requirement on a one-time basis.

So can I still apply? Wow, Japan. I am in my 40s here. I kinda want to be able to apply for PR while we’re all alive and healthy.
