      *Coincidentally*, ~~earlier today~~ [yesterday](https://www.reddit.com/r/CanadaPolitics/comments/1rf0po1/comment/o7gp3e5/?context=3) I noted a *similarity* between Conservative and Republican policies with respect to access to health care; and here we have a Conservative MP exhibiting *similar* Republican paranoia regardng AntiFa. If it weren’t so troubling I would find it welcoming to see the Conservatives be so forthright in expressing their shared views and values with the Republicans; at least it provides clarity.

      I believe the answer is ***yes***. Because AntiFa is not a criminal organization or terrorist organization, and does not promote expression or values which would run afoul of our Charter rights.

      I’m a little disappointed that Genuis didn’t want to be held to account for his request. Has he not the will to defend it?

      Imagine a world where a CPC MP had to live outside their echo chamber for a week.

      Good grief, what a waste of time this is. I wouldn’t expect anything less from Genuis.

      I would HOPE the armed forces and government are anti fascist.

      I would be very concerned if I thought they were Pro fascists or were themselves fascist.

      Anti fascism is consistent with the principles of parliamentary democracy, and is consistent with the Canadian values of peace, order and good government.

      Can’t these guys just read the room? Are they so inept they can’t even tell that they’re behaving in a way that’s probably energizing their opposition just as, if not more so than their own base?

      I’m not sure what agitates me more about this iteration of the CPC – their desire to find a group to punch down on in the media, or how they constantly, consistently attempt to import American political issues straight from the Republican playbook, despite all conceivable reported metrics and polls showing that, outside of their diehard, baked-in base, people actually, *actively* loathe this behavior, yet here we are, beyond quintupling down on this.

      They were picking fascist shrapnel out of my great uncle for two years after he was shipped home from France in 1944. Being „Antifa“ back then wasn’t just a good thing, it was your patriotic duty to be anti-fascist at home, and overseas to literally shoot fascists and turn their cities into craters.

      As to this modern day Joe McCarthy, get a hobby. You seriously want to start investigating the Armed Forces to find „Antifa“ supporters. What the hell would that look like, and what is it you propose to do when you find someone?

      The Tories are so addicted to the US culture war crap even when the US threatening our economic wellbeing and our sovereignty, they can’t shut off Fox and Newsmax. There is something very very wrong with these people.

      One thing is for sure, I don’t want any lectures from any Conservatives on freedom. All they ever mean is freedom for people like them, and everyone else under the boot.

      This is bringing the same energy as when the Conservatives constructed a monument to commemorate the victims of communism. And no names could be inscribed on the monument because many of the victims were Nazis.

      It’s OK folks, next week he wants the same agencies to identify anyone who is „woke“ then he’ll be asking about anyone using the „wrong“ bathroom. Nice he is asking the big important questions that will fix health care, education and social services.

      This is what I mean when I talk about how hard it’s going to be for Poilievre’s new personality to stick with with Canadians.

      Poilievre’s in the middle of trying to convince everyone he’s a reasonable, adult, „Team Canada“ statesman, meanwhile you’ve got CPC putting out anti-immigrant ads, talking about hunting down anti-fa, calling the government „radical leftists“, putting out weird mini-podcasts about communism (complete with Charlie Kirk inspired speaking tour branding!).

      I don’t know how you’re ever going to square those two things. It feels like Poilievre is either going to have to give it up at some point, or decide to fully reel in his caucus.

      MORE culture war. More Americanization. If they had said „Black Bloc“, I would have understood. But they really believe that this „organization“ is controlled by some shady groups. Read the room.

      Wow! I would assume that our whole democracy is based on the principle of anti-facism. But is great that they are letting everyone know who in the CPC are pro-facists.

      Their brains are cooked. This is what Elon Musk’s Nazi social media app does to you. If these Conservatives were smart, they’d delete it from their phones. But they’re not, so they keep showing the normal general voter how extreme and unserious they are.
