The escape goat argument is not unlimited. The bigger the height, the bigger the fall.
I have the impression that IF Russia invaded (let’s hope they don‘ pazhalsta), Tblissi would be conquered in less than 3 days, unlike Kiev.
I have seen no attempts, diplomatic or what so ever, of solving the situation of the georgian „occupied territories“. Or even de-escalating the situation. Maybe it’s a matter of priorities of the Moscow’s Regime.
Tho, I have 2 stories: I met 2 georgians in Tblissi, they were from Abkhazia. One was younger and a friend from a friend, he thought me what Georgian Supra was, and he was really sad because after he left, he never visited his hometown again, and he toasted to that.
The other one, was a bolt driver, that left Abkhazia in 2025. He spoke English fairly. Russian too. I asked him very directly: „so, is Abkhazia part of Georgia or what?“ He told me that yes, it was part of Georgia. I couldn’t really understand what or why it happened.
The GD Government may be doing a good inside job, but external foreign policy that could help lift the country is just miserable.
But this is just my humble and honest opinion. Hopefully time will prove me wrong. The Government who manages to solve this big georgian problem, will stay in power for a long time and will bring prosperity to the Georgian people. Let’s just find out if it will be this government or the next one, because history tells us there is always a next government 🙂
