      You shouldn’t drink beer when you need to split the case to bring it back to the Pfand machine…

      I know that they exist, but who would only buy half a case of beer? Or do you need to split it to carry it? In which case you are too weak for germen beer (/s, you never know)

      Well… everyting (more or less) remotely related to beer is serious business in Germany.

      Early generations of Pfand machines could not distinguish between full and half crates and you could double your Pfand by initiating the miraculous self-splitting.

      This is completely useless for people who need to carry 40 beers anyway.

      They also burn extremely cleanly and without smell. If you ever were at a lake or campsite and wanted to give your campfire a boost…
