      Forgive my ignorance, but why does it look like this? Why is oil in this pattern?

      Michigan? Really? You mean draining all the oil from the crankcases of unsold cars?

      West Virginia? Why are those poor people still digging up coal when they could be drilling for oil?

      This makes it appear as if there are entire states that have a contiguous underground layer of oil under the whole are. I think if that were the case it would be hard to miss, due to the stickiness, and the flammability.
