Chinese and Russian bot activity in Japanese social media has been rampant for a while. But anyone who pointed this out in the past was called a “westoid” and a conspiracy theorist.
Well, this sub itself also has some pretty weird activity. Just talk about how Taiwan is a sovereign nation and see a massive influx of people attacking you and sending you aggressive DMs.
If I really wanted to sink Japan, I’d stir up anxiety about foreigners and then let the declining population do the rest.
Look I have no doubt this is happening but at the same time it’s not like the LDP didn’t have their own astroturfing campaign. While I’m not a fan, if polical parties don’t bombard the online community with this kind of stuff they really risk losing ground.

Chinese have 5.3M X/Twitter accounts, if you think all of those are legit regular accounts you’re wrong coz China banned and blocked its citizen from using X/Twitter, regular folks there must use VPN and if they use that it won’t register as China origin. Inbound access from China to X/Twitter are from „special“ group who was given access by the CCP with special „mission“. It’s the same every platform out there like Youtube, Facebook etc including here on reddit, if it came from China’s IP they’re definitely CCP 50cent army with mission to repot or downvote anything against CCP and amplify CCP propaganda
