I actually didn’t believe this but the survey does say average rent in the 23 wards is 120,000.
I guess the answer is to live outside the 23 wards and commute like sardines in a can
I mean, I’m paying 250k for ~80 m2 five minutes walk from a Yamanote line station, so these numbers seem crazy to me.
How is that possible…? I lived in like 4 apartments in the 23 wards and they were all like 20-40m2 and like 50,000-72,000 a month. These people suck at apartment shopping
that’s not life.
It’s better to move to rural and work remotely
There really is no excuse to just move to Chofu or Fuchu near the Keio or Chuo Line. Sure, packed trains yada yada, but its not like it isn’t the same in downtown Tokyo.
