„If you wanna‘ kill….kill with ONE bullet!“
That much said it is an effective way to deal w/ those terror-missiles…as long as you do not have another chance. In the end they should be allowed to kill the launcher-site…deep inside RuZZia. But I know…the West will not allow this. What a disgrace….
This is good, because American air defense systems such as Patriot tend to use a „Shoot-Shoot-Look“ system, where they fire two interceptors at an incoming missile and only after that do they track to see if there was success.
It’s nice when you have a huge stockpile of interceptors, where it’s more important to ensure you kill the inbound weapon than it is to preserve your own defense ammunition, so you don’t take a chance of the single missile failing to stop the target and double your chances of a kill before you bother to verify whether it was successful or not. (Not so nice when you’ve got a limited stockpile of interceptors, and a second interceptor is arguably a „waste“ if the first would have succeeded)
This is because a „Shoot-Look-Shoot“ system might not have time to fire that second missile if the first one misses, because the inbound weapon might be too fast for that, such as the hypersonic ballistic missiles.
If they’ve managed to get accuracy to the point where they can confidently do a „Shoot-Look“ without that second „shoot“, that’s a really big deal.
