Poland’s foreign minister has criticized the U.S. for what he suggested was “completely outrageous” interference in Polish politics, in a rare rebuke of Washington by Warsaw.
Speaking in a panel discussion at the annual [Munich Security Conference](https://tvpworld.com/91593354/sikorski-questions-us-focus-on-ukraine-at-munich) on Saturday, Radosław Sikorski suggested the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump had broken an “unspoken agreement” when it offered a show of support for conservative Karol Nawrocki in the runup to his presidential election victory in Poland last year.
“Until recently, we had an unspoken agreement not to interfere in allied countries’ party political rivalries. Now, President Trump received a populist candidate for the [Polish] president,” Sikorski said.
“In the old days we didn’t interfere. But we did interfere on behalf of democracy in the politics of autocracies, and now it’s the other way around,” Sikorski added.

The Polish foreign minister said that interference in the politics of allied countries is “completely outrageous,” adding: “In Poland, for example, it’s irrational, because Poland was for years, for decades, the most pro-American country in Europe.
“The United States had a wonderful situation in which the government and the opposition [were] competing [over] who would be more pro-American. Once you start choosing sides, a different dynamic will start,” Sikorski said.
Warsaw and Washington have for years enjoyed a close relationship, with Trump often lauding [Poland’s commitment to its military spending](https://tvpworld.com/89199411/poland-to-spend-record-48-of-gdp-on-defense) obligations as a member of the NATO military alliance.
That relationship has been strained in recent months over disagreements between the EU and Washington on issues such as how to deal with Moscow in the context of its ongoing war in Ukraine and claims from the Trump administration that European countries are suppressing free speech.
A phone call between Trump and European leaders last August raised eyebrows when centrist Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk was snubbed, with Poland instead being represented by Tusk’s rival Nawrocki.
Trump has also favored right-wing leaders across Europe, such as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who is a political rival of Poland’s current government.

I know why Trump intervened and it’s because PIS is ungodly loyal to USA. Few days ago went to vote no against 44 Billion Euro loans on military (Those loans are a very good quailty) and keep yapping as to how only USA equipment should be purchased, not European and European is inferior in every way and is waste of money unlike USA equipment. And fearmonger that this deal being approved will cause deterioration in Polish-USA alliance and when that happens, Germany will throw Poland under Bus aka Russia and Poland will lose independecne and be supressed by foreign powers
