Why did the Biden campaign’s internal polling vary so drastically from independent polling? Even heavily right leaning polls weren’t forecasting a blow out this large.

This strikes me more like some kind of revenge fantasy imagined up by a Trump supporter since Trump never truly got back at Biden for beating him on 2020.

  2. (This was from right before he dropped out so post-debate, post-Trump assassination attempt, and post multiple flubs like „Vice President Trump“ or „President of Ukraine Putin“.)

(Colorado and New York were under water at the time, but just barely and probably would have stayed blue in the actual timeline so I put them as grey, but at that moment in July according to PSA’s stuff they were red hence 400)

    Seems pretty meaningless.

Edit: I’m not saying Biden’s obvious unpopularity and the party’s terrible strategy are meaningless, I’m saying that OP’s fan fiction map based on pretty sketchy information is meaningless.

If you give a 6% over-performance on an already stellar 2024 result, you’d gain NH, MN, VA, NJ, and NM. Maine is on ~7% needed, and IL and CO would need 10%+.

Turn ME and IL blue and this is shockingly possible.

  5. I do think Biden would have lost, but not this bad. It is hard to quantify alternate history elections though.

NY wouldn’t have been a toss up. Biden was always gonna win NY but old man really should’ve dropped out so we could have a proper primary. Ironically Trump is every bit as mentally checked out as Biden was, just in a way more aggressive way.

Huh, what I’m I supposed to interpret from this? One poll, months before an election, before the general even began. It’s porn for sure. Lots of show, but lacking depth.

I refuse to believe that Trump ever had any chance of winning New Jersey or New York.

  9. The dems really fucked that up running Biden. Everyone knew he couldn’t do two terms. We needed a two term dem to unfuck what trump did in his first term.

Now imagine if Biden dropped the Epstien files late October and called Trump a pedophile on national television. “Americans not voting in the election are actually supporting a child rapist.”

Why the fuck him and kamala refused to do something that would’ve gaurenteed a win is beyond me. I guess they felt bad for the insurrectionist spy pedophile since dome MAGA took a potshot at him.

Illinois, without a single statewide Republican officeholder, would’ve voted for a dead Biden over Trump.

  12. It should have been announced way earlier and a primary held. Mainly to stop the fucking idiot naysayers who blames the loss on no primary.

  13. He should have never even consider a second term.

That was always the deal –

The mentally deficient man-child, Trump, fucked things up. Elect the sane, steady-handed Grandpa to right the ship. Then pass it off to the next generation. Clean and smooth.

He was meant to be a 1 term President from the beginning and his ego fucked us all.

Now THAT would have been a mandate. Trump would have never stopped talking about it. lol

Thats so many What-ifs that it doesnt make sense anymore. He woulf have done more rallies and campaigning and all that stuff. So predicting an outcome in a different timeline is pure guessing. Im not saying its completely wrong, just based on very unreliable facts

I’m sorry but some of these states would not have voted for Trump no matter if you ran a slug against them

This def seems possible with how unpopular Biden was. But as the election drew closer people probably hold their noses and vote D in places like NJ and NM.

The best argument against democracy is an conversation with the average voter.
