  1. > The friends who created the page thanked fans on Feb. 12 for their donations, saying, “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showing up for James and his beautiful family. Your kindness has meant more than we can put into words. In the middle of deep grief, your support has been a light. It reminds us that love is real, that community is strong, and that James’s spirit continues to bring people together.”

    > They added that the family is spending time together to mourn and asked for privacy. “Your respect and understanding will give them the room they need to heal,” the statement continues. “Please continue to keep James’s wife and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for honoring his life with compassion, generosity, and love.”

Happy for them but it reminds me that the American Health Care system is broken…seemingly by choice.

  3. Good for them but it’s so fucked up that they had to count on the kindness of others. They are going through enough. This isn’t right.

My wife has been a public school teacher for over 20 years. She is slowly dying of stage IV breast cancer. I dont know if I’ll be able to keep our modest house by the time it’s all over.

    Where’s our 2 fucking million?

  5. it is devastating to hear this news but the community coming together is truly inspiring

  6. I’m glad for the benefit to the family, and acknowledge that I don’t believe any grift was at play here – it’s just that so many people could benefit from a fraction of this generosity, and: is “earn” the right word here?

Just goes to show you how broken “people” are, not just the system.

    🤷🏽

  8. I wish I could get to a place in my life where I dont gaf and just do „what’s best“ for me and my family.  I couldn’t even take a selfie in a crowded place without feeling like an imposition to others.

So I guess America doesn’t have an affordability crisis, since people have enough money to donate to a celebrity who lives in a mansion.
