  1. This is sad. I wasn’t a Dawson’s Creek viewer but I’ve never seen him perform something I didn’t care for.

TMZ really is always the first to know. I don’t see this anywhere else, not even on Wikipedia.

  3. Catherine O Hara now him… the reaper should leave LA and go to DC perhaps?

  4. Woah what?? I recently watched him on The Full Monty where he revealed he had cancer too. Just awful. I feel so bad for his family, he was too young.

Wasn’t he himself saying he is going to be okay and he’s doing well despite feeling sick with his cancer ?

  6. I was afraid of this when the pictures of his video from the reunion were going around. Sadly I’ve seen too many with cancer get that gaunt looking and not recover. Was hoping to not see that be the outcome here.

He was recently selling off memorabilia and looking quite frail. Seems he knew he wasn’t going to be around much longer. RIP, he seemed like an alright dude.

  8. That’s sad to hear. I was on a flight with him from Dallas to Vancouver. I just remember my wife and I sitting there and seeing him walking by while we were seated and then turned around to see him helping this elderly couple get their baggage up into the bins. He seemed so polite. He even grabbed them for them after we landed. RIP

FUCK cancer. Loved Dawson’s Creek. His wife and kids must be devastated!

Ah man fuck that. That’s so sad. I loved Dawson’s Creek and Varsity Blues. I was the perfect age for them. That’s heartbreaking

    Fuck cancer.

If you’re in this age range you need to insist on colon screenings. There’s such an insane spike in the young. Please be proactive in this for your own sake.

Sadly this was expected. He was in rough shape and I think looking into new/experimental treatments to try to get more time.

This is so tragic. He has been auctioning off his memorabilia to help support his family. Praying for them ❤️‍🩹

When people said they wanted 2026 to be like 2016 they didn’t mean with all the celebrity deaths.

  15. I didn’t know he was my age, that is far too young to be taken from his family 😔 cancer is a monster

Damn, another one of the people I grew up watching. Almost like losing one of your homies from your Teens

James was a big part of my childhood, as odd as it may sound „Dawson’s Creek“ had a huge impact on my life during my awkward teenager years. That show helped me navigate those waters, and I will always hold a special place in my heart for the entire cast.

Rest in Peace James, and thank you for everything.

Watching ‘rules of attraction’ and ‘varsity blues’ will just hit a lil harder now. Rip

Wow this is really sad. He didn’t look good in some of the interviews he did — I never really was into Dawson’s Creek but this just makes me think that everyone needs to be screened for colon cancer at a younger age. My dad’s step sister has stage 3 — and she’s not well. It’s heartbreaking. Prayers for the family.
