    > The energy crisis in Cuba has reached a critical level that is now directly affecting civil aviation. An official aeronautical notice (NOTAM) from José Martí International Airport in Havana confirms that the terminal is out of Jet A-1 fuel, which is standardly used by commercial aircraft.

    > The NOTAM, identified as A0356/26 and classified as international, explicitly states: “JET A-1 FUEL NOT AVBL” (no Jet A-1 fuel available). The notice has been active since February 10, 2026, at 05:00 UTC and will remain in effect at least until March 11, 2026, at 05:00 UTC, representing a full month without guaranteed supply at the country’s main airport.

    > These types of official notices are issued to alert pilots, airlines, and air operators about critical operational conditions. In this case, the lack of fuel means that airplanes cannot refuel in Havana, an extremely serious situation for an international airport that handles the majority of Cuba’s air traffic.

Venezuela was really important to them. Shame their dictator friend is gone. Their economy was collapsing beforehand, now it’s just in free fall.

Question: If Cuba knows their oil has been cut off and they are going to run out, why are they wasting it on passenger flights and such? Shouldn’t a state of emergency rationing been declared as soon as it seemed in jeopardy of this strangulation? They need it for critical uses not flights.

Not trying to be an asshole I just had that thought and wondered what the situation on the ground is like

this gotta be a war crime that Trump is committing right? Trump is literally endangering Cuban lives….

edit: to the downvoters, Trump is putting extra pressure than normal and completely stopping the flow of oil to Cuba. Thats what I mean….

Canadian tourists have used Cuba for years. To vacation. Maybe it’s time we help out our Cuban friends and send some fuel. And help these poor souls. Why do countries allow citizens to rot.

Make a deal send some healthcare workers our way we’ll send some petroleum and linemen your way.

Side note this pisses off trump. Because he would rather Cubans starve to death.

I was curious so I checked a few of our national vacation providers and they are still offering packages including flights to Cuba into March and April.

So without free oil from Venezuela and Mexico the communism can’t survive … not even with the “help” of china.

„And that’s how I managed to extend my Cuban vacation indefinitely.“

Any aircraft landing in Cuba will have to be on the same rules as any military flights leading up to bases in the far north. They must bring enough fuel for the return trip.
