      Am I the only one that finds it weird that they went out of their way to specifically call for one alternative?

      A political party praising this random foreign company, and demanding we sole-source this contract exclusively with them is downright weird.

      Why do people keep shilling the Gripen? Lovely aircraft, but if you really want to beef up Canada’s military, then the F-35 is the obvious choice. 

      If you match the two aircraft up in aerial combat, it’s no contest. The F-35 can kill the Gripen well before it’s in visual range

      I’m concerned the decision makers haven’t got the memo that the US is not a reliable ally, actively threatening us. I know people say people in procurement are slow as fuck, but man this is a bold strategy.
