  1. I’d be all for getting rid of the plague of online gambling. It adds exactly nothing to society and prays on the most vulnerable. Good riddance.

They absolutely should. They’re as much a scourge on society as big tobacco was.

Yes it should. The ads are intrusive and the industry is a net negative for society.

It’s wild we’ve allowed online gambling to get so out of hand in the first place when most provinces supposedly have a legal monopoly, e.g.: [Manitoba has only 1 legal sports betting site, but tests show it’s easy to use others](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/illegal-sports-betting-9.7068647)

The [Senate](https://www.parl.ca/legisinfo/en/bill/44-1/s-269) actually passed a bill to create a national framework for regulating sports betting advertisements, but it died in the HoC without getting a first reading when Trudeau prorogued Parliament.

  5. Suppose we legalized harder drugs such as cocaine.

Never in a million years would we allow companies to market and make it as convenient and accessible as possible as they are with gambling.

Gambling has the highest suicide rate recidivism rate of any addiction. It’s terrible.
