어차피 세금 제대로 안낼 사람들 아님? 몸은 피신해도 돈은 벌어야하니까 기업은 한국에서 돌릴테니 일자리나 경제활동에 그리 큰 지장은 없을거 같음.
I think the issue is valid.
The current inheritance tax is way too high, which leads to the propagation of loopholes that the rich can abuse (Bakery-Cafes are just the tip of the iceberg).
This effectively hurts the middle~upper-middle class more so than any other as they have less access to the resources for reducing their tax burden.
Would wealthy Koreans be less inclined to abuse loopholes and dodge taxes if inheritance taxes were more reasonable? Definitely.
In fact, it might be the case that the income tax yield might actually rise if the tax rates were lower, since it’d be less tempting to evade taxes (there’s always a threshold). Currently the incentive for finding loopholes and dodging taxes are far too high and that’s what we see here.
Bad take. Idk if I agree with the inheritance tax rate or not, but that’s not why millionaires are leaving.
