Since the early days of colonization, Canada’s population has had two prominent ethnic groups who have both helped shape Canada into what it is today and had their fair share of cultural clashes that would occasionally put the country at odds with each other internally: The original New France settlers and the settlers/subsequent immigrants from the British Isles.

However, since Britain’s victory in the Seven Years War, those of British ancestry gradually began outnumbering the original settlers of New France, especially as the country began to spread westward and the several large waves of British immigration to Canada that continues to this day.

*The British category only includes those who have ancestry from England, Scotland, and Wales, and not Ireland*

  2. There’s no Canada like French Canada, it’s the best Canada in the land. The other Canada is hardly Canada, if you lived here for a day you’d understand.

So British Colombia is British and French Canada is French. Neat.

Also, thank you for using the same color scale and ranges on both images.
