      They aren’t going to accept the very peace deal that they have designed, that the US would force Ukraine to put its head into the noose. All these attacks on trains, impractical demands on where the meeting will take place… they are trying to derail it.

      Why? Because ultimately the purpose of this conflict is war itself. Putin is getting what he wants. Even the demand on territory is at the core a lie. What he wants is the spectacle and horr. To you and I that seems absurd, but if 1.3 million casualties hasn’t made him blink it is time to accept some realities. Sure he’d be happier to see his troops winning, but even this unholy slaughter gives him what he wants. It models how far he will go and tightens his grip on power.

      Ultimately the US has lost sight of the obvious…. this is simply a war that has to be won.

      Don’t these guys have Zoom or something? I understand this is *obviously* a trap and Putin cannot be trusted to have Zelensky within his reach. He has proved *long* ago that he as no honor and no shame about assassinating an opponent in a way that would be revolting. But lets imagine there is a real will for a talk between two leaders at war in this day and age, I can’t imagine why anyone would ever require a face-to-face just for the sake of taking nice photos, not since video calls became a very standard way of communication around the world.

      At what point can we all get on the same page with the obvious: Putin does not want the war to end, and everything he does is just a stall tactic to keep taking territory.

      Russia could end this tomorrow but don’t want to.

      If America did not have a Putin lover as President such a demand by Russia would never exist in the first place. That is what this demand really tells us: Russia thinks it can get away with anything while Trump is in office.

      Can I suggest the Hague as an alternative location Putin can then after meeting Zelensky go straight to his trial.

      I have faith that zelensky has an ounce of sense, and knows if he agrees to this he will be following the path of navalny.

      This has to be the stupidest most obvious bullshit thing anybody has ever asked for.

      They will literally kill him the first chance they get. Guessing they’d do something like “civilians attacked him on the way to the meeting” and then they’d have a fake trial for the agents with fake identities. And after being found guilty, the fake identity disappears and you’ll never hear about them again.

      They don’t want this meeting to happen so they’ve created terms that Zelensky can’t accept.

      We know that Putin is NOT serious about wanting peace – he only wants pieces of Ukraine – leading onto all of it !

      How about holding talks in The Hague ?
