yikes. Strength to you, brothers.
Meanwhile, record snowstorm in US, and record lows across eastern Europe.
Nothing to do with global warming though, boys. No way are climates related!
so glad we’re not doing anything about this.
Uggg. I can’t even convince of how awful that would feel. Stay cool kids. In related news there’s an unprecedented run on popsicles!
I remember the Oils bragging about the Western Desert lives and breathes at 45 DEGREES! And that was just about 39 years ago. I feel old.
I read a book years ago called “Not by Fire but by Ice”. It seems to be coming true faster than I thought. Melting polar ice changes Gulf Stream, Northern Europe freezes, ice age starts again, Neanderthals everywhere, wholly mammoths. A few days ago 46cm of snow fell in Toronto, Canada, and governor trump wants to invade us? Good luck.
Put water out for the wildlife!
> The temperatures experienced in this heatwave are still a way off Australia’s all-time record of 50.7C, recorded at Oodnadatta in 1960 and Onslow in 2022.
They hit 50° in 1960? So current temps aren’t common, but not exactly „record breaking“ for the country.
This is why we mostly live on the coast.. people think we are a „big“ country, with lots of space, but really not in terms of where it’s livable.
Rather have that than this cold shit
got off the plane in Adelaide on Tuesday morning, and it was 35C at 8:30am….
Coming from a Texan, the worrying part is this is becoming the new normal. At this point it’s not about records, it’s about habitability. My heart goes out to Australia.
50C is 122F. Whew.
What’s the humidity like?
