      Bad enough they want backdoors into anything encrypted, including chat apps, VPNS, etc. But to let them have access to speakers/mics in your own home?

      Remember that any backdoor for policing reasons, is a backdoor that criminals can use too.

      This is replacing the 1993 Act, which was written before the internet was really a thing and covers such critical topics as telegrams. The ones without a capital ‚T‘.

      Theres judicial authorisation required so a they won’t be reading your messages unless you are suspected of committing a crime.

      The same way they can only gain access to your banking details with a court order, so it is the case that it won’t have any effect on you if you are not a serious criminal

      Certainly not at all reminiscent of the US and Palantir using Ring doorbells and other devices to track people.

      We can’t even enforce scooter bans but they want to create a surveillance state.
