The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists moved the ‘Doomsday Clock’ forward to 85 seconds to midnight on Tuesday, signaling the threat of a global catastrophe. The scientists touted multiple factors as major contributors to the possible large-scale destruction.
“The hard-won global understandings are collapsing, accelerating a winner-takes-all great power competition and undermining the international cooperation needed to reduce existential risks, the group said.
The members of the association cited the Russia-Ukraine war, May’s India-Pakistan conflict last year, and Israel and the US striking Iran last summer as one of the major reasons for ticking the clock forward.

Who in the world phrased it as eighty five seconds, no one says that. I have never heard anyone use the phrase in everyday life eighty five seconds, that’s a minute twenty five….
