Matthew Lillard sagt, Hollywoods Reaktion auf Tarantino sei so gewesen, als würde man „die eigene Spur durchleben“

  1. > “It was like living through your own wake,” Lillard describes of all the tributes he received from his peers in the business on social media. “All those R.I.P. emails or tweets and Instagram posts and TikToks, all of the things we see after somebody passes are so sweet. And the reality is I just got to live through all of it firsthand — alive and kicking! I can’t imagine a more lovely reaction to what happened.”

    > On the podcast in question, Tarantino called Dano „the weakest male actor in SAG“ before stating, „I really can’t stand Owen Wilson“ and „I don’t care for Matthew Lillard.“

    > “It was crazy. I keep showing it to my wife to convince her that I am worthy, that people still like me,” Lillard tells EW, taking on a more jokey tone. “I am a piece of ass!”

    > He later adds, „Nobody has to like me. Nobody has to like any actor out there, obviously. It’s personal preference. I am not everyone’s first choice, that is obvious, but to then have that kind of reaction was beautiful.”

  2. I sincerely hope someone gives Lillard some Oscar bacon to win a statue.

Be it a cliche WWII, Pear Harbor, 50s piece, whatever, he deserves it

  3. Why is this still a story??? What is such a big deal about the opinion a single director about a single actor? It’s been *weeks* of this stupid narrative. Give it a rest mate.

His face was cartoonishly animated in Without a Paddle, which I saw when I was little. I remember, even then, thinking that his face had as much elasticity as Jim Carrey’s. Talented guy.

I’m honestly so glad that it ended up working out that way. I think he does an incredible job in every role he takes and is a forever and ever crush. Tarantino can go back to sniffing his own farts.

  6. Lillard and Owen Wilson were particularly odd to pick on. Lillard was relatively obscure and Owen Wilson was just getting back in the swing of things after a suicide attempt and had just done Loki.

Paul Dano, I dunno. I think Tarantino just doesn’t like odd-looking white guys, cause they remind him of himself.

  7. Ive always like Matthew Lillard but he absolutely blew me away in the third season of Twin Peaks.

  8. Yeah you wouldn’t want to disparage a living legend like Matthew Lillard. What would we do without a celebrity endorsement for Ghost Face Vodka?

That video of him getting on the floor with a shy young fan doing the Scooby voice is so heartwarming.

Am I wrong or did he only say „I don’t care for Matthew Lillard“? What he said about Dano felt like it crossed a line, I don’t really think what he said about Lillard warranted any real sympathy though, directors are allowed to not like certain actors.

No one cares about Tarantino, but Matthew is such a nice guy. I don’t understand how he can dislike him, he’s had so many great movies. Hackers is an all time favorite

I love Matthew Lillard, Tarantino? Nah I honestly think he’s kinda weird.

When people on the internet threw a bitch fit because some guy didn’t like some actors.

He’s done a lot of good work. Though it was a smaller role, his scene in The Life of Chuck made me tear up.

The saddest part is that Quentin Tarantino is actually right about Lillard. I know the internet loves him for being a nice guy, but he is not a good actor.

He’s in my favorite movie, Serial Mom. He’s a great actor and phenomenal human being. I wish him nothing but good things.

I mean, I respect Tarantino for a lot of things but that dude has no cause to criticize other actors, all three of those guys are far better actors than QT will ever be.

I love him so much! He is exactly who I want our son to be around in the industry 🫶

Rewatching Scream this past Halloween, after it was over, I said to my friends, “Matthew Lillard carries that movie.” We all don’t have to like any actor. There are some I don’t enjoy and that’s okay, just for the sake of not being a prick, most people have the couth to not say it out loud in the media. And Matthew Lillard is just, as someone else said, so obscure. It’s not that people aren’t entitled to their opinion but that’s so left field lol.

  20. SLC Punk’s and Lillard’s depiction of the underground music/counter culture scene will always hold a place in my heart as an SLC native.

  21. Lillard is one of those guys who just makes you feel…good. He’s a talented actor, a memorable face, and a comforting presence.

If you haven’t seen SLC Punk, go do it. He’s absolutely incredible in that film.

Well, if I was stranded on an Andes mountaintop in a plane crash with Lillard and Tarantino, I know who’s leg I’d be snacking on and who will be sledding down the mountain on a wingtip with me. Hint – I hope Tarantino tastes like chicken.
