Should’ve excluded Turkey.
Europe has more soldiers than the US. What is needed is integration. The European Army proposed by Kubilius is really inevitable. Stronger and cheaper. It’s a no-brainer.

Lux could see off all those Russians.
To truly deter Russia, we need militaries that are well trained, equipped and able to operate together.
Russia’s weaknesses in logistics and coordination give us a clear advantage but only if we work smarter.
Can you link a source?
in European *NATO* countries
Show active + reserve.
This says nothing about the trained personnel. Your graph shows only those who are currently employed by the military.
Finland alone has 900.000+ trained reservists. They are just living their civilian life and doing their civilian jobs right now.
Might be doctors, engineers or whatever. Not like the US professional soldiers who are mostly recruited from the lower socioeconomic class, which has no better options in life. That’s also why the US casualty tolerance is so low.
Plus every single one of the Finnish reservists is better trained to the arctic warfare than 99% of the US active personnel.
in any other statisitc turkey isnt included in europe but for this one they are for some reason…. wonder why!
Perhaps it’s time to issue an ultimatum to Russia. They have a month to withdraw their troops from Ukrainian territory, otherwise European NATO countries will launch air strikes against all Russian military targets in Ukraine. Europe already has enough ammunition stockpiles to sustain two weeks of air strikes, while maintaining defensive positions on the ground. How long is this war supposed to last?
Russia delenda est
Finland’s more real army size is over 250k men, it’s just that a vast majority of them are reservists going about their normal lives until called up to serve.
I wonder what it would look like if all relevant reserve soldiers were added. We do have a lot them, well, us, in Finland
This only shows active professional army and not reservists and National Guard.(Baltics would be 2-3x then or more)
And with better equipment, too.
Where’s Ireland?
Cool, i wonder how many would actually be available in case of an attack
How many drones have European armies? How many trained troops who are ready to fight with and against drones?
These numbers have zero sense
Yeah, but Russians are ready to sacrifice half a million Russians to make Europeans miss one Summer vacation abroad.
(I mean that’s what they are doing right now, and they almost made it)
That list is missing a few countries too.
Not all armed forces are equal. Also, as with China, not all armed forces are battle tested and battle ready.
Charts dont mean a whole lot unfortunately. For instance and I don’t mean any offense to these countries – Italy and Spain have a big chunk of that…. They’re always the first to resist France and Germany led spending initiatives. Also, how good are their armed forces really?
1,1 M active russian personnel, meanwhile they lost about 1M+ people in the war. Something is not adding up.
soldiers don’t win wars technology does
Haha bro Türkiye is not part of EU or future army. Sorry we don’t have a visa.
this looks as pretty sizeable numbers, yes, though you also need to equip them, to produce ammo in enough numbers. Say, particular army can have 500k but realistically can deploy just 20k if question raises right tomorrow. Also, as Europe has many different types of tanks, battle machines, artillery, basically everything – it will be hard to repair and maintain. One single, unified army could be even less in numbers, but better organised and much more reliable
Greece having the same number as UK, Germany, Italy ….
Issue will be to coordinate all army’s together in a working bond
Ukraine experience with drones and drones warfare will make them most sought after specialists after war ends. If we absorb them to EU we will be force to reckon with. Also they will have a lot of bloodied veterans.
We need more
The one guy from Lux is more capable than 1.1M little green squares from Ruzzia
I’m not taking seriously Turkish support as Nato member. They would support NATO but not without prior political deals with EU. Classic Osman policy style.
