# €44 Billion for Poland’s Security: European Commission Gives the Green Light

„The European Commission has issued a positive opinion on the documents submitted by Poland regarding the acquisition of funds from the **SAFE program**,“ announced Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Monday.

# Key Details of the Polish Plan

According to the Polish Press Agency (PAP), the national plan approved by the Commission involves:

* **Total Funding:** €43.7 billion (approximately 184 billion PLN at current rates).
* **Scope:** Financing for **139 separate projects**.
* **Other Approvals:** On Monday, the EC also approved plans submitted by Estonia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, and Finland.

# Poland as the Primary Beneficiary

Poland is set to be the largest recipient of the SAFE program. Earlier, on January 16, the EC approved the first batch of plans from eight other member states (including Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Spain, and Romania). In total, **19 member states** have applied to participate.

Following the Commission’s approval, the **Council of the European Union** has four weeks to make the final decision on adopting the plans.

# What is the SAFE Program?

The SAFE program provides a total of **€150 billion** in support through low-interest loans for the purchase of military equipment.

* **Strategic Origins:** Established in 2025 in response to the growing threat from Russia and uncertainty regarding continued U.S. engagement in Europe.
* **Objective:** To reduce dependence on American weaponry and strengthen the defense industries within EU member states.
* **“Buy European“ Requirement:** The program limits purchases from third countries. At least **65% of the components** used in the equipment must be manufactured within the states participating in SAFE.

Its great but the number one priority is to help Ukraine win. That is the number 1 most cost effective defense investment for European securitt, now, and as after when it is in the EU, and the amount of help is not enough currently. That is a fact. 

It would provide following this, not only a weaker Russia but it can offer its military as an EU defense force in exchange for being well funded, replacing much of tge gap left by US withdrawing its bases.

The taxes from that funding will help pay for reconstruction. Therefore you then have more money for other things, including defense.

This is the right way around.

The wrong way around is to fail to help secure UA in tge next 2 years, and secure its skies, thereby leading in a best case scenario of having to finance much more reconstruction costing more than this additional 44 billion euros.

Or worst case, UA collapse next winter, and its military absorbed into RF. RF+UA is a much more powerful force.

The investment you would then need is at least tripple this. 

Romania would need 80 billion+, Poland 120 billion for defense.

And eaxh NATO country is already pledging 5%.

I swear there is abysmal strategic understanding and vision in the EU, which is hardly surprising given how its financed RF with gas purchases for years which is what financed this invasion (entirely predictable) and its slow reaction to the threat up until now. 

Eastern countries will destroy Europe because of social media and low IQs.

Now they can make an army of indians. If Ursula wants to bring them here to take our jobs then why not take that kind of „jobs“?
