So who’s getting tariff this time ? India or EU ?

Hope this deal brings some peace to the world, there’s too much unrest these days.

EU will get a lot of medicines, textile at reasonable rate and we’ll get nice wines & cars, perfect deal !!

Finally. Free trade is the only way to global prosperity. The value of goods and services should always stand on their own two feet, or four.

  3. One really needs to hand it to trump. He is advancing global trade massively. Just not for America.

Trump has created more trade deals than anyone else, except that all of them are between other Nations whilst the USA population get tariffed.
If the man is a stable genius, I ain’t seeing it.

  5. DJT doing more for international ´non-US´ diplomacy than anyone else (by threatening to burn the world down) 🙄

    Now Trump gonna say

„I don’t care what India does with EU. They can take their dead economies down together, for all I care.“

This includes much easier access for Indians to Europe so tourism is about to explode

All thanks to trump, he forced EU and India to do the deal which was in discussion for 20 years.

I’m so happy that this went through.

Didn’t think it would happen for another decade tbh, sorta like MERCOSUR, but they really sped it up towards the end.

  10. Tariffs will be cut to zero on Indian marine goods, leather and ‍textile products, chemicals, rubber, base metals and gems ‍and jewellery.

Lower prices for EU goods in India – over 90% of tariffs (taxes on imports) will be cut, which could double EU exports to India.

Faster shipping and simpler customs – sending products will be easier.

EU companies get extra protection for their ideas, logos, and inventions (intellectual property).

Access to India’s services market – like banks and shipping companies.

Small EU businesses get special support to sell in India.

More export of labour-intensive Indian goods, including apparel and footwear.

Might be more benifits here and there, but this is what I got from the EU website.

  11. The US’s biggest trade partner, EU and the #2 trade partner, Canada and moving away from the US and towards India and China. The future US export will be hit. Oh well.

Does this mean more import of foreign people to work cheaper in the EU?

If that’s the case this deal is only beneficial for companies but the local people with be out of job unable to find a job

Somebody give Trump the Nobel peace price already! He has united Europe with India and China for god’s sake!

  14. The news is about the EU and India, the majority of comments are about Trump. Good job, Reddit.

Chapter One: Strong arming your allies into excluding you from the deal.

We have lost the European Union to deepest, darkest India. Modi is a great guy, but he has problems. THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS. He’s my friend, by the way. If I were the President, this would have never happened. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

  17. > Modi emphasised that it represented about a third of global trade, calling it the “biggest free trade deal in history”.

Someone is about to lose their shit on social media in about two seconds

  18. „Europe made a bad deal with India so we must have *enter random country here* for security“ – Trump

  19. As a European, will this actually benefit the common people? Nobody has called for this. It seems to me only to benefit big companies, like German car manufacturers wanting to sell to India. Do I want to buy chicken from India or grains from India over local/EU rules? I don’t. I want to rather have no tariffs from Japan, South Korea, the US, UK, i.e. countries producing goods I actually buy *that isn’t* produced locally or in the EU.

A long term disaster in the making to save the European car industry in the short term.
