      I’m conflicted.

      On one hand, I don’t want Bovino with *any* authority and every day with him with power allows the normalization of his rhetoric, antics and actions. Him being removed, or demoted or whatever is a boon to the safety and sanctity of an otherwise very scary situation so close to civil war precursor moments.

      However..

      I’m petrified that humans are just too stupid and short sighted. That unless there are things that affect them and circulate the news cycles *literally* the **WEEK** of midterms, that we won’t have turnout. So Bovino being removed can be seen as a scapegoat and those low propensity, low information voters might look at the situation as „welp, at least this is Trump listening to the people and making things better, he’s turning a new leaf!“ and so I almost feel like I’d rather Bovino stick until a DNC shutdown which could then be narratively controlled (as if the DNC knows what narrative control looks like) as Bovino being removed as a concession to the DNC.

      Maybe I’m just too black pilled on the electorate and they’ll all prove me wrong with a giga fucking blow out in the coming months, but after watching the ‚discourse‘ of people sowing apathy in the lead up to 2024, I just can’t hold my breath.

      With that said, Noem is definitely on thin ice herself(no pun intended).

      He doesn’t need to be demoted he needs to be prosecuted and jailed including anyone else currently working for ice. This is is just the admin trying to scaprgoat him while changing nothing. Americans will continue to get gunned down, and legal migrants/ citizens will continue to be sent to concentration camps. Bonus establishment Dems will also keep looking for ways to avoid abolishing ice.

      They are doing damage control. We will not rest until every single one of them is out and behind bars. The fight continues.

      Let’s call this what it is – a token to appease the MAGA base.

      MAGA watched a white lesbian get shot, and it didn’t quite sit right, but she was a lesbian and a woman, so meh.

      Then they watched a white male nurse that worked with veterans, get shot. And they saw the video, and were told that he was violent, armed, threatening. But it didn’t line up. He’s a white man. He works with veterans. It’s harder to „meh“ that away.

      Now there is dissent in the MAGA-sphere. Not the large, clamoring outrage decent people are expressing. This is uncertainty. This is doubt. There cannot be any doubt in the MAGA-sphere.

      So they „fired“ the „guy in charge“. He’s responsible. It’s his failure of leadership. Done and done. Now MAGA can grasp this fig leaf and say „Trump fixed the problem!“ and go merrily along in their horrible little ways. And if this isn’t enough of a „sacrifice“, then Noem will be next. But ICE will continue to Gestapo, and the Republicans will continue to act as Fascists.

      This is a thin whisper of a possibility of a consequence, which MAGA will bullhorn into The Solution That Wipes Away All Ills. When we point at Good or Pretti, MAGA will say „that was under the old guy. Trump fired him. Those don’t count any more“. I 100% guarantee it. And nothing will change, the MAGA-sphere will be cleansed of doubt, and this nightmare will continue.
