And that’s where your tax money is going instead of to Healthcare or education etc

As always private business takes the rest of us for a ride. The government is complicit in it but the private sector is constantly abusing the taxpayer.

It’s the same story with all the contract overruns in state construction – we get fleeced by private companies and the neoliberal FFG government just lets it happen.

SF were/ are big supporters of mass migration , so why are they complaining about the state spending billions on it . Its been well documented over the last few years how many tens of millions have gone to hoteliers/landlords, so why are they moaning about it now

  3. Private landlords getting tax payer money for setting up half assed IPAS centres.

Private landlords getting tax payer money for renting out half assed property.

At least Ireland has some consistency

  4. SF is criticising profiteering landlords, but not acknowledging the underlying policies or structural factors that created the situation in the first place.

  5. Imagine the protection money they could be getting out of Banty if they hadn’t agreed to decommissioning. Noway a Monaghan man makes that much money without a sizeable cut going to the lads.

Now to get serious, this is long overdue. Having dealt with some of the IPAS providers through work. This has a public inquiry written all over it. Prime hotel space in towns and cities bought for millions, banks financing this and then Banty and co making millions per year in profit on the backs of some of the world’s most vulnerable people..

  6. A very small amount of people are making a very large amount of money.
The politicians know this because some of them are also politicians. When anyone questions the system, the aul racism card is produced.
People are literally trafficked into Ireland to be dumped into hotels all over the country and blank cheques are written with no questions asked.

Because, if you ask questions, you are right wing nazi populist maga etc

the new money laundering , clean as you like from the goverment . gangs be laughing .

  8. I think and feel this is just part of Irish culture, since there is also a saying cute hoor and all, many people don’t see a moral issue with this, from housing to health care and everything in between, or as some might say.

*“Fuck you all, stop moaning I have a great life“*

Well considering the steps that preceded this were literally buy up dilapidated financially distressed hotels around the country for pennies then suddenly there’s a government stipend to house asylum seekers it is at the bare minimum insider trading and at the worst state sponsored human trafficking. Pretty sure there’s specific crimes against humanity that cover using vulnerable people to launder tax money but hey any question against the traffickers is racist against the trafficked apparently

  10. There should be a compulsory purchase order for all buildings housing asylum seekers. Most places could have been bought 10 times over in the rent thats being paid
