I’m sad to say this, but if I were on the Olympic Committee, I’d say “let’s cancel the Olympic Games scheduled to be held in the US. The risk to our athletes and worldwide audience attending is too great”. I’d say the same thing for the World Cup. <shakes head in sadness that things have come so far>

That sorta gives away the game, doesn’t it? ICE stands for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which is a domestic concern. Using them as „security“ overseas just underscores that fact that they’re little more than a personal army.
Does this make it clear to even the slow readers that ICE and more largely Homeland Security is no longer about border enforcement and drugs and is now his personally goon squad?

There is no legal precedent to send a fucking illegal immigration task force to a foreign country to protect athletes that are already closely monitored and guarded by not only the committee, but the host itself.
